Effective date: October 12, 2026
Tanya’s Bakery House (“we,” “us,” “our”) runs tanyasbakeryhouse.com (the “Site”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
We collect very little. We only collect information you choose to give us:
- Comments: if you leave a comment, your name, email address, your comment, any recipe rating you give and your IP address.
- Emails: if you email us, your name, email address and anything you write to us.
- Contact form: if you use the form on our Contact page, your name, email address and message. The form sends your message to our inbox by email. It is not saved on the Site, and we do not use it to add you to any mailing list.
- Newsletter: if you sign up, your email address. It is stored by our email service, Hostinger Reach, so we can send you the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Like all websites, our web host automatically keeps standard server logs, which include visitors’ IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used only to keep the Site running and secure.
We use Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to understand how visitors use the Site: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (city and country), their device and browser type, and how they found us. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time using the cookie banner or our Opt-out Preferences page. If you are in the EU, UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics does not store cookies about you unless you agree.
2. How we use your information
- To display and moderate comments
- To reply to your messages
- To send our newsletter to people who sign up for it
- To understand how the Site is used so we can improve it
- To keep the Site secure and prevent spam
- To comply with the law
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with our website host, Hostinger, which stores the Site and its data on our behalf, our email provider, Google (Gmail), which delivers and stores the emails and contact form messages you send us, our newsletter service, Hostinger Reach, which stores subscriber email addresses and sends the newsletter, and Google Analytics, which processes the website statistics described above. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights. Our providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
4. Affiliate links, other websites and embeds
The Site links to other websites, including Amazon and other retailers. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may use cookies to record that you came from our Site so we can earn a commission. Links to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other sites take you to those services, which collect data under their own privacy policies.
5. Do Not Track
The Site does not track you across other websites. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and Google Analytics will not store cookies about you.
6. How long we keep information
Comments until deleted; emails and contact form messages as long as needed to respond; newsletter sign-ups until you unsubscribe; Google Analytics data for 2 months, the Google Analytics default.
7. Your choices and rights
- Email us to review, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, including any comments. We will respond within 30 days.
- If you are in the EU, UK or Switzerland, you can also object to or restrict processing, request a copy of your data, and complain to your local data protection authority. We use your information based on our legitimate interest in running the Site and responding to you.
8. Children
The Site is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no website or internet transmission is completely secure.
10. Changes to this policy
If we add new features that collect information, we will update this policy before they go live and note the change below.
Summary of changes: October 12, 2026: added Google Analytics with an opt-out, the newsletter, the contact form and our handling of Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals; removed the website field from comments; clarified that we do not sell or share personal information.
